Girls’ Education & Scholarships · बालिका शिक्षा तथा छात्रवृत्ति
In many Madhesh wards almost every girl starts school, but far fewer are still there after Class 8. Distance, cost, housework and early marriage pull them out at exactly the age when education changes the most.
We work with school management committees and parents to keep girls in class: needs-based scholarships, bicycles for girls who live far from secondary school, evening classes before exams and separate, clean toilets. Scholarship lists are chosen by the school committee and posted on the notice board.
Restricted giving is welcome — tell us the ward or programme and we will report back on it specifically.
